Commissioner Johnson served on Oklahoma City's Finance, Economic Development, and Capital Improvement Committee and chairs the Neighborhood Conservation Committee. She was a member of the MAPS Study Committee and maintains an active role with MAPS for Kids.Commissioner Johnson is a Trustee of the OKC Zoo Trust, Oklahoma City Riverfront Redevelopment Authority, Oklahoma City Museum of Art, and Oklahoma Health Foundation. She is the Vice-President of the ACOG Board, YMCA Achievers, the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Oklahoma State Fair Board of Directors.Commissioner Johnson is a working member of the Oklahoma Municipal League. She is an active member of the National League of Cities, having served as a member, Vice Chair and Chairperson of the NLC Community and Economic Development Committee. She also served two years as an NLC Board of Director, and presently serves on the NLC Advisory Council and is the liaison to the CED Committee.Commissioner Johnson is an active member of many community and professional organizations and a member of St. John's Missionary Baptist Church.Commissioner Johnson was instrumental in the redevelopment of the Eastern Golf Course, the building of Edwards Lake, expanding transportation to far northeast OKC, rehabilitation of all Ward 7 parks and community centers, infrastructure improvements to Ward 7 streets, bridges, and traffic, clean up of Superfund sites, Brownfield redevelopments, city improvements to the Health Center, development of the Youth Council of Oklahoma City, development of The First Tee of Metro OKC, and street scape program along NE 23rd. Economic development has been a major priority for Commissioner Johnson.
