"Mrs. Margaret Dabney"

Nationally renowned sculptor and painter Melvin Smith, Class of 1959, from St. Paul, Minnesota was at Douglass High School for a special dedication of three paintings that he donated to the school. The unveiling of 3 works done by Smith reflects his experiences growing up in Oklahoma City. Smith captures his high school art teacher in a painting he calls "Miss Margaret Dabney."
