To The Frederick Douglass Alumni,
The students of Frederick A. Douglass Mid-High School are protesting the KIPP Charter School expansion and we would like for all of the alumni to participate in the press conference on Friday, May 20th at 10:30 am. The press conference will be held at the school. We need your support in showing the school board that Douglass is a great school, to show them that we didn't fail them but that they failed us. They need your help in showing them that the Trojans can “Prove Them Wrong” and that they need to give us the means as well as the chance to show them that, as a whole, we are worth being kept as Douglass Mid-High School, that we are a vital part of the community, and that our school makes a difference in the lives of the students. We challenge our alumni to support us, hear our voices, and help us make our stand, to show that the students’ education, well-being, and future are worth more than any amount of money or passing grade can buy. We need to put our children and students before everything and give them the chance, the means, and the desire to dream, achieve, and excel. We urge our alumni to show up and support as we let our voices be heard.
