10804833076?profile=originalOklahoma City Public Schools is launching its annual district-wide professional development aimed at parents, grandparents and other family members who support the students in the district. As part of “The Great Commitment”, OKCPS is launching “Super Saturdays". Super Saturdays will give families the tools they need to take an active role in their child’s education. Studies consistently show that students with involved parents are more likely to: earn higher grades and test scores, enroll in higher level courses, pass classes, attend school regularly, graduate and go to post-secondary education. Super Saturdays provide our families with much needed information to help them take a more active role in their child’s education.

Seeing the need to improve family engagement across the district, several community partners and agencies are offering workshops and information during the resource fair scheduled at each Saturday session. YMCA will provide FREE childcare for each session, Cox Communication is providing FREE lunch for all who register and attend; and the United Way of Central Oklahoma is organizing the resource fair which will include several community agencies offering guidance and support for families.
